A unique feature of Kapten that our customers love is the certainty of our fixed fares. This is often the number one reason that people choose Kapten over our competitors.
Our fares are made up of four components: distance, live traffic, the base fare and the Central London Fee. Kapten's fare components do not differ from our competitors, but because we do not charge customers a clean air fee, we are able to offer a lower price to the customer, but the same payment to drivers. On top of this, Kapten is paying the highest bonuses in London.
Distance – £1.25 per mile
Our system bases the price on the fastest route at the time, even if it is a longer distance. This distance is calculated using live traffic conditions, so road closures or detours to avoid heavy traffic will be taken into account.
Live traffic – £0.15 per minute
Our fares take into account live traffic conditions. During periods of busy traffic or road closures you will receive more per ride than off-peak periods. We regularly monitor and update this system to ensure that our fares accurately predict London traffic.
The base fare - £2.50
Every ride will have a £2.50 base fare applied and the minimum fare is £5.00.
The Central London Fee - £1.00
An extra pound on all trips starting or ending in the Congestion Charge Zone - 24/7. This fee is subject to surge so can add up to £3.00 to the journey.
On top of this you receive:
Up to 3 x the fare price. Surge also applies to cancellation fees.
£0.25 per minute after 2 minutes up to a maximum of 8 minutes.
Commission free ride bonuses
Up to £15 per ride.
Airport charges are included in the ride price.
